COVID-19 Update – May 20, 2020

The safety of my clients and our community is of the utmost importance as we navigate our world with COVID-19.  Here is what you can expect moving forward with both in-person and telehealth sessions at Shannon Gordon Therapy.

Health Checks

I am keeping close tabs on myself and family for any COVID-19 symptoms and will be rescheduling appointments if there is any concern of illness.

If you are feeling unwell or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 (Ex. Cough, Fever, Shortness of Breath, or Flu-like symptoms) I ask that you stay home and reschedule your appointment.  There will be no cancellation fee for in-person appointments cancelled due to illness.

Reduced Capacity

I will continue to offer online sessions as well as open up a limited number of in-person sessions. Scheduling has been modified to ensure adequate time for cleaning and sanitizing the office space in between clients.

Social Distancing

The office space and waiting room has been set up to accommodate social distancing.  This will allow a minimum of 6 feet (2 meters) of distance between the client and therapist during sessions.

Face Masks and PPE

Face masks will not be required during your visit as we can accommodate social distancing. As always, I am committed to creating a comfortable environment for my clients and if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask please do so.  If you would like me to wear a mask please do not hesitate to ask.

Hand Hygiene

Hand sanitizer will be available in the waiting room. Please sanitize your hands when you enter the office and again on your way out.

Payments

I will continue to accept e-transfers and credit card payments but will no longer accept cash. E-transfers can be sent to info@shannongordon.ca or you can add your credit card information to your Jane account.

.                              Stay healthy, safe and informed!

A Green Private Practice: A Chance to Make A Difference

While building my practice I considered how I could lessen my carbon footprint and be more environmentally conscious.  I am proud to say I have been able to take the following steps in hopes of running a Greener Private Practice.

  1. My office is located in the Coulter Berry Building in Fort Langley, B.C.  The building is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited.
  2. I have been running almost completely paperless since the beginning.  I use Jane App in my practice for all client files. This software allows me to keep all of my files secure on a server located in BC and most importantly I can be paper free.  My advertising is done online with the exception of business cards. There is even a whiteboard that can be used in session to avoid the use of paper.
  3. My office windows allow for an abundance of natural light so we are rarely turning any lights on.
  4. Most importantly to me, my office is in a location that allows me to utilize other forms of transportation other than my car on most days.
